Powerful Fund Raising Initiatives

  • Capital campaign at rural hospital in Corning, Iowa. Exceeded $2-million-dollar goal to build new addition. Afterwards assisted in establishing a Foundation which continue to provide sustainability and growth to this rural hospital.
  • Created and implemented a comprehensive major gift/planned giving campaign for a fund to provide assistance to elderly individuals residing in an Alexandria, Virginia retirement/assisted living facility and who are in need of financial assistance. Goal of $5 million was surpassed.
  • Provided leadership and directed a church stewardship campaign in Virginia and Nebraska considered by the board as the most successful ever. The Virginia program increased pledge participation by 47 percent and as a result eliminated budget deficit.
  • Leadership role in creation of program to honor physician mentors resulting in more than 380 physician gifts. Sixty physicians participated as committee members. Program has generated $3 million over three years.
  • Initiated Centers of Excellence Fund Campaign in Omaha, Nebraska which offers the Medical Centers family, friends, grateful patients and other supporters a broad choice of health care services to support vital new or replacement technology and expand facilities or programs. Exceeded initial goal of $1 million.
  • Prepared strategic campaign plan for hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Recruited leadership positions and launched successful hospital family campaign. Handed off campaign plan to their foundation director.
  • Created business plan for implementation of national physician organization in 14 state area to develop funds for research to explore causation, prevention, improved treatments or potential cures for digestive and liver diseases and conduct public education initiates to increase awareness among consumers about the prevention, early detection and treatment of various digestive disorders. Business plan has served as a national model for other programs.
  • Initiated a program to engage physician members of a national medical associations in the identification and cultivation of affluent individuals. The Board of Governors established a committee to accept this concept as a component of their goals. Twelve physicians agreed to participate during first year. Activities underway included donor identification, donor cultivation and strategic proposal presentations. Physicians received formal training in its importance and their role in development.
  • Supported a startup national organization on setting up a functional fund raising program and acquire initial funding commitments from 12 businesses providing $1,000,000 in pledges over 5 years.
  • Direct Contact Programs acquired thousands of new donors for a youth drug treatment program and other health related causes.
