R. D. Olson has staffed or counseled countless not for profits for 27 years assisting in making a plan for their future and participating in advancing fund development. This includes fund raising leadership with Midlands Hospital Foundation, Bergan Mercy Foundation, Mercy Corning Hospital, Skyler Foundation, Missouri Valley Hospital Foundation, Mercy Hospital Foundation, Foundation for Digestive Health, American Academy of Otolaryngology, Army Residence Retirement Foundation, American Clinical Laboratory Association, Goodwin House Foundation and recently the Institute for Natural Medicine.
Included in this fund raising background, Robert Olson has significant volunteer leadership. This lifelong commitment has made a difference and giving back allowing Robert a unique insight to engage others in your mission. Robert has served as President of a United Way, Chamber of Commerce President organization, Vocational Development Center proving for people with disabilities, Community College Foundation and other not for profit organizations. He also served as a Board Member of community organizations including Rotary, Visiting Nurse Association, YMCA, and as chair of a city planning commission. He is also active on church boards and often is the volunteer leader of stewardships campaigns. Prior to this fund raising career, Robert worked as Director of Marketing for a community hospital in Iowa and as Marketing Officer for a National Bank.
Robert obtained the Certified Fund Raising Executive status in 1996. Fund development experiences include Senior Development Director for a national physician association, Senior Consultant for a national relationship development firm, and Regional Vice President for a national physician foundation and Executive Director of three hospital foundations. He has directed many successful healthcare related major gift and capital campaigns as well as youth programs, national associations, retirement communities, church stewardship and other not for profit organization.
Specialties include development of startup programs, strategic plans, major campaigns, planned giving programs, endowment, corporate support and advancing underperforming fundraising programs. Robert has national expertise in working with physicians to engage them in the grateful patient development process with affluent person they are acquainted with. Robert has also pioneered direct contact programs to acquire thousands of first time donors.
